Year 1 blog

Today has been so exciting in year one .  Our mystery egg had cracked open. We followed a trail of footprints through the school and found a dragon in Mr Brammer's classroom. Mrs Gibson found an elf with it. The elf has brought us a letter from Santa. 

Today, Year 1 walked through the story of Where Oh Where is Rosie's Chick by reading, seeing and pointing out different stages of the story. Click here to see the photos!

Today has been the first day that Year 1 have started building their robots!

Year 1 are learning about people who help us at Mass.  Mrs Cushion showed us how we set up the altar to celebrate Mass in our school.

We have had a cheeky visitor to school since the 1st December our class elf. He has been moving around our classroom and look where he ended up today!!!! Where will he end up tomorrow?????

In English we have been reading and learning about the book "ZOG" by Julia Donaldson. Today we have been on a treasure hunt, reading and finding clues from the story. The hunt was all around our school which was fun and exciting. Here is some of the treasure objects we found. 

Year 1 have had a special visitor in school today called Meg who is Mrs Burns dog. She was very gentle and let us stroke her. She was a very good dog and didn't mind when we got a little excited around her.

We have created penguins using a range of resources and textures for our hall display. We have been reading the book "Lost and Found" by Oliver Jeffers. We hope you agree that they look pppppperfect!!!
