Blog by Year 3

Last week we went on a trip to Skelmersdale college. We looked at photographs of Skelmersdale a long time ago. On our way there we took photographs of the things we saw. We really enjoyed it. It was lots of fun.

Today we made some medicines from the book George's Marvellous Medicine. We were learning about Roald Dahl. We put some strange ingredents into a bowl and wrote instructions to make granny better.

This week we have been looking at plants in the local area. We have taken photographs and drawn our favourites. Then we painted them.

Yesterday we  started to make an ecosystem. We put water in the  bottom of a bottle with plants, a snail and gravel. Then we started to do the top of the ecosystem. We put soil, gravel and birdseed in the top. We are waiting for the grass to grow then we will add minibeasts.

Everyone made soup, scouse or salad as part of our DT work. We made scouse and we loved making and eating it. We washed the vegetables, cut them up and boiled them in a pan.

Today we learnt how to do lots of different circus skills. This photo shows me spinning a plate on a stick. I had so much fun. My favourite was balancing the feather on my chin.

The whole of our class had a mindfulness session on Monday. We listened to music played by 

Debra. The music took us on a magical adventure in our minds. My favourite instrument made a noise like a propeller.

Yesterday we went to Tatton Park. We saw lots of deer and sheep. We walked around the garden and had fun in the rain. We played on the huge adventure playground and it was really nice for all of the classes to play with each other.

On Thursday it was our last P.E lesson with Mr Cole. 

We played a game called fourbats.

We really enjoyed it.

We put a lot of effort in and had a super time.

In cookery club this week we made really healthy smoothies. 

In my smoothie I put strawberry, blueberry, pineapple and banana. It was tasty and I loved it.
