Well, the sun came out this week for the start of the 2017 SHARES Year 5/6 football league. The boys were all extremely excited as they had been working hard in training sessions, leading up to this competition kicking off. 

Our first match was a close game against St. John's, we were unfortunate to lose 1-0 but the boys didn't let their heads drop and were determined to make amends in the next game. We came up against a strong Crow Orchard side that were quick and good with the ball at their feet. It was a very even game. However, in the dying seconds the ball fell to the feet of Daniel and he Walloped it past the goal keeper to give us a fantastic 1-0 victory. The boys were ecstatic! Our final game was agaisnt Bishop Martin and I think that the emphasis the boys put into the last match began to take its toll as Bishop Martin ran out 2-0 winners. 

Both Mr. Hennigan and I were extremely proud of the boys that took part and we are very much looking forward to the games next week!
