Paper bag game

Today we have been looking at differences between our local area and a city in India. We pretended we lived in India and had to make paper bags to sell to survive. They were very tricky to make and we realised we are very lucky to live in Skelmersdale.

Trip around Skelmersdale

Last week we went on a trip to Skelmersdale college. We looked at photographs of Skelmersdale a long time ago. On our way there we took photographs of the things we saw. We really enjoyed it. It was lots of fun.

Super rocking stew

In Design and Technology we made a stew. We put broccoli, carrots, potatoes and stock into it. We also tried some with different spices in. Chopping the vegetables was good fun. It was really yummy.

The naughty Elf

When we came into year 3, we saw a naughty elf on the book shelf. He wrote  hello year 3 and knocked some books down. He is so naughty! He even broke our chocolate advent calendar. We're hoping he doesn't do anything silly over the weekend.

Vegetable drawings

Today in art we have drawn vegetables using different materials. We used  pencil, charcoal, graphite and pen. We looked at real vegetables to help with our drawings. We liked smudging the charcoal.

performance poetry

Today we have been to year 2 to perform our poems. We learned them with actions. My group was about beasts and crocodiles. Some other groups were about sand and an old wall. It was fun but I was a bit nervous.

Year 3 rocks

We have been learning about different rocks. We dropped rocks in a jug full of water and thought about whether they would sink or float. We learned that  rocks from volcanoes float in water. Their holes are filled with air. That is why volcano rocks float. Some rocks sink.
